General Description/History

  • Sweeter flavour than cauliflower or broccoli.

Select broccoflower with compact heads and tightly closed flowers. Stalks and leaves should be firm and fresh.

Steam or use in stir-fries, salads or crudites for dip.

Broccoflower is a cool climate crop which grows in sandy soils. Regular irrigation is essential once young heads have formed. Heads grow rapidly near maturity.

Broccoflower, which originated in Holland, has taken America by storm and is now being introduced to Australian palates.
