Fennel al Gratin

Description:

Ideal as a side dish to accompany meat or chicken.

Ingredients:

 

  • 6 medium fennels
  • 200g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 100g butter (cut into cubes)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Pinch of salt

Method:

 

  1. Clean outer leaves and put in a bowl with a pinch of salt and the lemon juice and water to cover. Allow to stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain and pat dry. Cut fennel in half lengthways and lay in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and cubed butter.
  3. Cook in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
