General Description/History

Dried lotus pods are large, rounded, cup-shaped pods studded with many holes or pits. The pods are brown, and up to 20cm in diameter and the holes or pits are arranged in a circular pattern on the flat side of the cup. When fresh, these pits contain the lotus seeds or nuts, which are delicious to eat. Stem length is often short, but can be up to 50 cm.

  • Undamaged pods with no cracks or missing sections

  2. They do not need water.
